Hello everyone!

Firstly, I apologise for it being nearly two months since my last blog update.  However, when you read what's been happening, I'm sure you will understand!

I'm a little unsure where to start, but a good place seems to be with a pupil update.  Since last posting, I have gained a further three piano students.  I now teach 14 pupils a week, and I already have a further 2 in the pipeline.  It really is great to be attracting so many students.  I love being able to share my love and passion for music, inspiring people of all ages and from all walks of life.  Remember, I have just moved to Bridgend so if you are in this area, GET IN TOUCH!!  At the moment, I have a special promotion for new pupils - book four lessons for just £44 (RRP £54).  I also have a promotion that applies for new and current students - recommend someone else for lessons, and receive four lessons for just £40.

So, what other news do I have?  Well, I have just been taken on as the new accompanist for Mid-Glamorgan Mixed Voice Choir.  This is a lovely little choir that rehearse weekly at Pencoed Bowls Club.  I am very excited to be working with this community choir, and I look forward to making music with them.  If you think you might be interested in joining, or coming along for a sing, please do get in touch!

Perhaps my most exciting piece of news is my recent employment as the new Peripatetic Piano Teacher at St. Clare's Independent School, Porthcawl.  This position starts September 2013, and I will be teaching 10 pupils a week.  However, there is scope to increase significantly the number of pupils and this is something I hope to achieve through enthusiasm, encouragement and inspiration of current students.  St. Clare's is a wonderful school with a rich history, and it is an honour to become part of the staff and, again, to be able to have the opportunity to inspire the next generation of pianists and musicians.

Apart from the above, life is very busy!  This month (June) I have played/conducted for 4 weddings and three funerals!  As for next month, it's going to be another busy one, with one wedding and two concerts.  The most exciting concert will be on Thursday 18th July.  This is a joint concert with Llantrisant Male Voice Choir and Toronto Male Voice Choir, and is taking place at Llantrisant Parish Church, 7.30pm.  If you are free, please do come along!

Well, that's about it for the moment!  Oh, well, not quite!  I'm going to be applying for the position of MD with Caerphilly Community Chorus.  I've gotten in touch, and I'm just waiting to hear back - watch this space.

Thanks for now!

Matthew
